Classroom Teacher (Working with children ages 2 – 5)

College Park Preschool is looking for qualified Early Childhood Educators to work in our program. We are a ‘Reggio Emilia” inspired program with a strong emphasis on play and social-emotional learning. We believe children learn best through play, with an emergent curriculum that supports meaningful relationships. We view each child as a unique individual and a competent learner with needs to be supported, within the content of a warm, nurturing environment.

Our ideal candidate loves working with young children, is well versed in creating engaging learning environments, understands the concepts of an emergent curriculum, has excellent communication skills, enjoys working with parents and the community, and is willing to try and learn new things.

Job Status:

Part-time; Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m.to 4:30 pm or 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position has a 12-month contract.

Qualifications:

AA or BA in CD or ECE + three years’ work experience with children ages 2 – 5 years is preferred.

15 CD or ECE core units + two years’ work experience with children ages 2 – 5 is required.

Responsibilities:

Works with a co-teacher to: supervise, support and nurture children in a preschool setting; develop an engaging, emergent curriculum for their classroom; design a play based, loose parts learning environment; create child portfolios; conduct observations; and support parent relationships. Additionally, this position requires knowledge of toilet learning and provides toilet learning support to children as needed.

Salary:

$18– $24 per hour depending on education and experience.
