JUNE AND JULY NEWSLETTER

College Park Preschool families are amazing!  Your involvement in the day to day happenings of the school as well as planning special events has been tremendous.  There are not enough words to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks for a truly wonderful year. Thank you to all the parents on the Parent Group for making so many wonderful events happen.  Thank you to all our room parents and to the parents who organized Scholastic Books, Art Stamps, or the Library. Thank you to our parents who shared a special talent or a family tradition, or planned a learning experience for the children, or helped in the classroom, art studio, or on a field trip! Thank you to the parents who generously donated items to the school and to the classrooms. You truly made a difference!  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!  You have truly “made a difference”!

Sadly we say goodbye for another year. To our soon-to-be kindergartners, we wish you “bon voyage”.  To our families who are moving to a different school or city, we wish you all the best.  To our returning families, we look forward to another great year and may…

God bless you and keep you safe ‘til we meet again!

Children who are enrolled in our Summer Fun program will enjoy learning activities along with water play, arts and crafts, music and movement, free play, snack, and story time. Summer Fun is on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be a late fee for children not picked up by 12:00 p.m. ($5 per five minutes).  Children must be toilet-learned to attend Summer Fun.

When children arrive, please wait outside your child’s classroom if your child is in Mrs. Wood’s or Mrs. Gutowski’s class.  Children in Mrs. Clark’s or Mrs. Cave’s class begin their day on the playground at 9 a.m. Please sign in on your teacher’s sign-in cart and indicate who will pick up your child.  Children must wash their hands upon arriving at school. Children should wear protective clothing, a hat, and sunglasses on sunny days. Children who wear flip flops, etc. will not be able to climb or ride bikes.  We do let the children take their shoes off in the sand box.  Children may also wear bathing suits on certain days.  We get wet at summer fun!  Please bring a towel with your child’s name on it and an extra change of clothes.  Parents, please apply sunscreen before coming to school as well. If the weather is in the 90’s, we will stay inside in the air-conditioning.

Returning families need only bring any new information needed for your child’s folder such as a new address, phone number, cell phone, change of physician, etc.  New students will need all forms for the child’s folder.  If you do not have all the forms, please call and leave a message on the answering machine (619-582-2520) and the forms will be mailed to you.  It is very important that parents of new students let the director know of any food allergies.  New students will not be able to attend Summer Fun until all forms are on file.
